The opposites of nautical and celestial are brought together in this architectural piece, which has been inspired by  the “axis mundi” philosophy, where the axis is the world center, or the connection between Heaven and Earth. The axis may have the form of a natural object (a mountain, a tree, a vine, a stalk, a column of smoke or fire), the vertical bar representing the union of earth and heaven.

This piece has been developed bringing together parts of musical instruments, representing modern architecture which appeared to need minimal support on its connection to the earth, represented in the wooden base.
